Hello. I am Kerry Tristram; mixed media artist, jeweller, teacher and creator of Studio Cuckoo.

I am interested in capturing the little moments in life, the everyday magic and wonder that surrounds us but which often goes unnoticed. My work speaks of our encounters with nature and how we human folk attune to the Earth’s cycle, through our everyday rituals, which reflect seasonal change and bring comfort and joy to our lives.

I have always collected found objects; leaves, shells, pebbles, feathers, as a means to encapsulate memories, to create a kind of visual diary, treasured finds with a story to tell.

Trained as a jeweller, I am drawn to objects on a miniature scale. These finds are often the starting point for my work; whether that be a collage, a print, a piece of jewellery or a tiny sculpture.

Fascinated by curated collections of objects d’art, preserved behind glass in museums, glimpsing bygone eras and other worlds, I am inspired to create my own collection of curiosities. I like to think of them as modern day amulets that connect us to the natural world and remind us to notice and cherish the simple things, in an increasingly chaotic world.
